A 24-year-old girl was shot in the head resist an assault after having withdrawn more than 50 thousand soles from a bank from the sale of coffee. The act of blood occurred at about 6 pm last Thursday, on Teresa Otiniano Avenue in San Ramón de Pangoa, province of Satipo.
The victim, identified as Karina Muñoz Erquinio, had withdrawn 51,000 soles from the bank and, accompanied by another person, decided to leave, braving the danger on the streets.
Later, on a less crowded street, the “brands” who had been following her on a black motorcycle intercepted her and, pointing a gun at her, took the wallet in which she was carrying the money. She, facing the criminals, struggled and, in that attempt, was shot in the head.
In the desperate situation, the young woman was quickly evacuated by the locals to the San Martín Pangoa hospital where the doctor Vladimir Quispe treated her in an emergency.
In the hospital it was known that Karina’s evolution is favorable, so her speedy recovery is expected. Only a miracle could save her from certain death.
POLICE INQUIRE. In the course of the investigations, the police found in a remote area (Bethel sector) the motorcycle with which the subjects committed the assault. The vehicle is subjected to scrupulous surveys to find clues that lead to the identification, location and capture of the thugs.
