Panama reports 208 positive cases, 0 deaths and 21 patients in ICU due to Covid-19

The epidemiological report of the MINSA counts 475,577 accumulated cases, of which 208 are new positive cases.

In the last 24 hours, fortunately there were no deaths, currently there is a cumulative 7,350 deaths from Covid-19 for a lethality of 1.5%.

The recovered patients amount to 465,983, while 7,000 new tests were applied for a positivity of 2.9%.

The active cases add up to a total of 2,244, in home isolation they remain in 2,029 and 92 in hotels.

There are 102 hospitalized patients in the wards and 21 in the Intensive Care Unit.

Operation PanavaC-19 will continue this weekend with vaccination days on circuits 8-9 in North Panama; 8-4 in Chepo and the islands and 10-1 and 10-2 in the Guna Yala region.

In North Panama, the population can go to get vaccinated at the Villa Zaíta shopping center, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and at the José Artigas school in Caimitillo from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. p.m

While in the 8-4 circuit in Chepo there are 19 vaccination points in 18 townships in Chepo, Balboa and Chimán.

In circuits 10-1 and 10-2 in the Guna Yala region, doses are applied to the population from 12 years of age in 22 vaccination centers in Narganá, Aligandí, Puerto Obaldia and Tubualá.

In the rest of the country there are vaccination days in fixed posts in shopping centers in provincial capitals and in polyclinics and health centers.

The health authorities remind the population not to lower their guard and continue to apply biosafety measures such as the use of a mask, alcohol gel, facial screen in public passenger transport, hand washing, physical distancing and use of alcohol.
