Colón already has a third-level CSS hospital

The Hospital “Dr. Manuel Amador Guerrero” of the Social Security Fund (CSS), in Colón, was elevated to the third level category, due to the 14 specialties and 25 subspecialties that it offers for the benefit of more than 300 thousand people.

These include new subspecialties such as neurology, geriatrics, algiology, cardiology, endocrinology, rheumatology, oncology and interventional radiology, among others.

This achievement positions the hospital center as a benchmark in Colón with specialized medical care.
The general director of the CSS, Dr. Enrique Lau Cortés, and part of his work team, carried out an inspection of the hospital to supervise its operation.

During the last two years, 13,493 surgeries have been performed, including elective and emergency surgeries, while 300 births and a thousand hospitalizations are attended monthly, highlighted the hospital’s medical director, Dr. Milton Alvear.

Likewise, this hospital has been innovated with modern medical radiology equipment, such as a C-Arm with a table for the interventional radiologist, a mammograph, a tomograph, ultrasound and others.

In addition, structural adjustments and improvements have been made in obstetric emergencies, childbirth, diet, radiology and emergencies.
