Katleen Levy calls for the TE audit to be “serious and responsible”

RADIO PANAMA Editorial Office

The Presidential candidate for Free Application, Katleen Levy García, was satisfied with the announcement made by the Electoral Tribunal (TE) indicating that they will suspend the use of the mobile App and will audit the process of collecting signatures through this system.

However, Levy asked that the audit be done in a serious and responsible manner so that there is no doubt in the public about the transparency of this process.

RELEASE

A few weeks ago I publicly warned in different media outlets and on my social networks that the APP that the Electoral Tribunal had offered to collect signatures was being violated.

It was evident that there were candidates who were benefiting from the deficiencies, presenting an exponential increase in the number of firms that were reporting daily.

Being consistent with my actions, I 100% support the decision that the Electoral Court has taken today, to temporarily suspend the use of said APP and deepen a serious and responsible audit on the collection of signatures.
As far as our campaign is concerned, we will be aware of the investigations and we will not allow the work of our activists and my own, walking in the sun and the rain, to be called into question.

After the announcement of the magistrates of the Electoral Court, I have several doubts that I hope will be resolved in the coming days:

  1. Which company sold or earned the right to provide the SOFTWARE?
  2. Will the TE ask for any compensation for the vulnerability of the system?
  3. While the audit lasts with the suspension of the APP, will the use of registration books be allowed?
  4. Who will be the external company that will do that audit or is it just an internal audit?
  5. That the magistrates confirm if it is true that they held separate meetings with other candidates for president for the free nomination, if the answer is affirmative, why was not a summons made to all the candidates where the measure was announced?
  6. How long will this audit last and if during it the campaigns can be represented in this process?

To conclude, I reiterate that the audit was necessary and I confirm in my thesis that the Electoral Tribunal has taken actions that continue to leave the current process of collecting signatures with low credibility.
