In that sense, “a real budget for housing cooperatives” is called for, and it is seen with “great concern” that it has been lowered from 5,000 homes to 2,700. In other words, there are 2,300 families that have not yet been able to register their houses.
In some cases, according to Tropiano, the cooperatives have been waiting since 2019 to be able to register and start the works.
“We see that in 2023 and 2024 there will be no cooperatives within the Ministry of Housing ready to enter the draws,” Tropiano denounced.
And he added that he sees with concern how throughout this government “the budget is getting smaller and smaller and that harms the cooperatives.”
“We have a housing deficit in the cooperative movement of about 80,000 homes in previous five-year periods.
