Two young people arrested for the murder of a 61-year-old man in Buceo

Two people were arrested by the police as alleged perpetrators of the murder of a 61-year-old man, which occurred on June 22 in the Buceo neighborhood (Montevideo), reported Telemundo (channel 12) and confirmed from the Ministry of the Interior to The Observer.

It is about an adult (18) and a minor (17), who will be sent to the prosecution.

The victim received a bullet impact that caused his death, after a group of strangers approached him and steal $ 10 thousand. He had arrived from Maldonado at an agreed point: José Batlle Boulevard and Ordóñez y Rivera.

There, parked in a vehicle, he waited for more people. He was not alone, he was accompanied by another 33-year-old man, who reported the following to the police at the time: together with his partner (the deceased) he had traveled from Maldonado to buy an engine for a vehicle.

As they went down, a group of people approached them, beat them up, showed them a gun and stole their money, Police sources then told The Observer.

The investigators analyze the veracity of that story and, sources familiar with the case, limited themselves to saying this Wednesday that no hypothesis is ruled out.

The homicide is being investigated by prosecutor Adriana Edelman, who was at the scene on Wednesday the 22nd with the Scientific Police while the forensic tests were carried out.
