Deputies were going to deal with the law on addicts on the street, but it was lifted due to lack of quorum

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ope Pasquet, adjourned the session on Tuesday night in Parliament because there was no quorum. It is required for that, that at least a third of the total of the camera is present. In this case there were 32 of the 33 needed. In total, there are 99 deputies.

The session that Pasquet was predisposed to initiate would deal with the involuntary hospitalization of addicts, proposed by the Ministry of Social Development. It refers to the provision of compulsory assistance by the State to people living on the street. This is the modification of the sole article of Law 18,787.

In the coordination of all the political parties -in which Pasquet also participates-, andThe Colorado Party requested an intermediate room from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. so that the legislators who wish to attend the presentation of the book The power of ideas, by Julio Maria Sanguinetti. The general secretary of the Colorado Party and former president of the Republic would carry out this activity at the Radisson hotel.
