Bolivia closed the first week of February with 2,821 positive cases of coronavirus and 29 patients lost their lives, according to official data from the Ministry of Health.

On the day there were 575 fewer cases than on Thursday, when 3,396 were detected, which show a de-escalation of the positives in the fourth wave of the pandemic.

However, 29 people died, one more than on Thursday, and the global total reached 21,102 deaths.

Official data indicates that Santa Cruz registered 807 cases, La Paz 702 new patients, Cochabamba 633 cases, Chuquisaca 168 new positives, Tarija closed the day with 142 cases, Potosí added 120 cases, Beni had 95 new patients, Oruro 81, and Pando 73 new ones. infected.

The number of positives since the pandemic broke out in March 2020 has reached 869,892 cases and 715,866 patients have recovered. A total of 6,784 people were restored yesterday.

The Government report adds that to date a total of 12,015,161 doses have been applied. Children five to 11 years of age received 566,937 first doses, while 257,151 received second doses.

In the week in which schoolchildren returned to classes, some in person and others virtually, there is a de-escalation of cases in Bolivia, although five capital cities have already confirmed that they will hold carnival parties at the end of the month that could eventually raise the cases.
