The United Nations system in Uruguay issued a statement highlighting the relevance of the work carried out by the INDDHH.

For this reason, the process of selection and appointment of the Board of Directors of the INDDHH for the period 2022-2027 is of great importance. “The national regulations mention requirements such as experience and well-known knowledge of human rights or high moral authority. These criteria reflect, among others, the ‘Paris Principles’, which guide the work of these institutions on a global scale. Among them, it is worth mentioning the importance of safeguarding the formal and functional independence of the institution”.
