Pedro Castillo to Congress: “I ask you to vote for democracy, for Peru and against instability”

President He asked Congress to “vote for democracy, for Peru and against instability” at the end of his defense speech before the second vacancy motion filed against him.

In the final part of his speech, the president indicated that despite the crisis that the country is going through, it must be “faith and trust” in the future of the country. He also asked to follow “working together” to leave a better country than the one he found.

“In this room, I will repeat what our Quechua ancestors used to say before undertaking a great task: Huk umalla huk sunquilla and huk maquilla! One single force, one heart and one direction!”he expressed.

“Members of Congress, I ask you: vote for democracy, vote for Peru, vote against instability”added Castle Lumps.

The head of state also indicated that rejecting this vacancy motion does not mean that the issues will not continue to be investigated and he was willing to continue collaborating with the investigations of the competent bodies.

“The urgent challenges that we have in health, education, economy, security, demand that we work together, that we put aside antipathies and mistrust, and act with greatness, commitment and patriotism”he stated.

“These are times of unity, these are times of collaboration. That is what our citizens ask of us. This only depends on the effort and will of each one of us”he added.

Finally, peter castle questioned that the figure of the presidential vacancy has become the “central axis of the political and journalistic agenda” since his election to office in the second round.

“This can’t go on! Let’s leave this environment of turbulence “stressed the president in his speech before the national representation.
