“If the measures remain and the distribution slows down, it is likely that there will begin to be a shortage,” Pérez told Telemundo. “Tomorrow surely it will not reach many businesses.”
Blocking the output of products
At noon this Wednesday Conaprole denounced that the union blocked the supply of milk to the market and may compromise the raw material sent by the producers.
“Since this morning, the AOEC resolved to carry out a total stoppage of activities at the Conaprole plant in Villa Rodríguez (San José). This morning the cooperative asked the union to load 130,000 liters of whole UHT milk ready to supply the market, at a time when there is a shortage of the product, generated by the conflict carried out by the union for the installation of a new packaging machine”, Conaprole said in a statement.
It also indicated that “in the absence of a response from the union, it was decided to proceed with the loading of the product with personnel from the UHT line, with the understanding that it was merchandise that had already been purchased by sales outlets,” and that then “The union responded that it ‘does not enable’ the release of merchandise and resolved to stop activities at the plant.”
Conaprole announced that if the union measures are not set aside “the state of the raw material sent by the producers can be compromised”therefore the necessary union guards were requested, “but so far the union’s response has been negative.”
