For more than $65 million they will improve the road infrastructure of El Chorrillo

The President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, and the Minister of Public Works, Rafael Sabonge, delivered the order to proceed with the Study, Design, Construction and Financing project for the Renovation of the Urban Infrastructure of El Chorrillo, whose reference price is B/.65, 229,358.14.

During his presentation, Sabonge explained that the work consists of 42 sections of streets, segmented into 25 groups of branches, of the township of El Chorrillo.

The Ministry of Public Works (MOP) through the contractor Centroequipos SA will execute this project, which is approximately 8,638 kilometers long and was tendered under the turnkey modality.

It is estimated that the work will benefit a resident population of approximately 20,000 people, the minister said.

The work has the objective of carrying out an urban renewal to comprehensively improve the road, pluvial and sanitary infrastructure of the corregimiento.

The scope of the project includes improvements in the sanitary sewer system and aqueducts and potable water networks, the design and construction of the pavement structure, the drainage system, storm drains, among others.

It also includes the design and construction of pedestrian sidewalks for schools, churches, health centers, sports centers, public parks, among others; as well as the placement of road signs for road safety.

The work includes the relocation of public and/or private utilities. The execution time of the work is 1,095 calendar days from the order to proceed.

On all the sidewalks of this project -especially in the pedestrian crossings- the design and construction of facilities for the crossing of disabled pedestrians should be contemplated, such as: access ramps.
