Ventas a domicilio y subcontratación de servicios en auge en el mercado

Home sales and subcontracting of services booming in the market

An issue that is addressed at certain times is the subcontracting of services by large companies, which the workers’ unions have criticized because it makes employment precarious. The employee, instead of having a higher salary due to the size of the company, passes to the category of worker of a small or medium, whose salary is less.

When analyzing the subject, the expert in MSMEs and finance Marina Ortiz agrees that subcontracted employees fall into another category and less beneficial working conditions. However, it states that for the large company, outsourcing represents a benefit in the sense that it can concentrate its efforts on managing human Resources productive for management.

He adds that this process causes the specialization of personnel in different areas, especially in maintenance.

“When you hire a cleaning company, that staff has skills that are not the same as simply hiring a lady to clean you because she already knows, they have trained her, she has some rules,” says Ortíz.

He also states that having a gardener who has to be supervised is not the same as having people specialized in gardening supervising the work he does.

“You have to see both sides of the coin. This has also helped the promotion and expansion of more specialized companies in the field of plumbing and general services such as cleaning, gardening, maintenance and takes away from the business or company as such the diversion of its energies towards areas that are not productive for the business. and that at the administration level is considered the best way to manage”, he argues.

One element that Ortiz highlights is that when a service is subcontracted, there is no need to work with recriminations to the staff, the person is simply reported to the company and they send another one and that gives the large company more stability.

At the same time, it represents a challenge for small businesses to maintain training levels and around a staff.

Even Ortiz abounds, there are companies recruiting people for domestic service and legal advice on how to calculate the payment for this work, rights, forms of hiring, especially as a result of the resolution of the Ministry of Labor that orders the regulation of this labor branch.

“There are a whole series of new businesses that arise to the same extent that the market needs arise,” he says.

Remember that the Ministry of Economy, Planning and Development has been talking about the need to care for people, which is why it predicts the emergence of companies with personnel specialized in caring for sick or elderly people.

expansion niches

Marine Ortiz, executive director of the Microenterprise Financing Fund (FundoMicro) highlights that these changes in society have led to the emergence of dozens of MSMEs.

An example is the food sales services that have expanded mainly because hardly anyone goes home for lunch and then returns to work, either because of traffic or work dynamics. Nowadays there are multiple options to eat with diverse menus and adjusted to dietary plans.

As part of this dynamic, home delivery or sale stands out, which although it emerged as an alternative for survival of the colmado in front of the supermarket, has already spread to most businesses to the point that a service is not conceived that does not have that modality . Even that there are companies specialized in door-to-door sales.

“That is the advantage that microenterprises have that respond to market requirements with much better flexibility than a large company,” says Ortíz.

Transportation

The micro companies of the transportation area They are another phenomenon of great growth such as motoconchos or taxi drivers that offer the service to thousands of people who do not have more suitable mechanisms to move, so they satisfy that need.

However, Ortiz warns that in the case of motorcyclists they have a high degree of vulnerability due to lack of health insurance, civil liability and they are not always properly organized, because in the event of any accident it is not known where to find them who to claim.

Ortiz recognizes that this sector has initiated the associativity that helps to have more organization, although this process is sometimes a limitation for the insertion of new members.

MSMEs and women

Ortiz highlights as an important fact the fact that this flexible structure of the microenterprise has helped the labor insertion of women.

“Women can combine issues related to their domestic economy, to the house, to the same requirements that they have with flexibility of time,” she exposes.

She points out that there are women who do not want to be employed, but want to generate additional income and manage their time and that is why they start a small business.

“They manage their schedule and that has helped a lot with the labor insertion of women because it combines other tasks that they have together with the generation of resources”, says Ortiz to highlight that thanks to the MSMEs the role of women in generating income is has increased significantly.
