Deputy Elías Matos proposes a government and transporters summit to reach an agreement

He proposes to the Dominican Government to promote a summit with the different actors of the transport sector, in order to reach a consensus.

The deputy for the National District Eliazer Matos (Elias) proposes to the Dominican Government to promote a summit with the different actors the transport sectorin order to reach a consensus on the modernization plan for the corridors in Greater Santo Domingo.

Matos indicated that it is a duty of the authorities to listen to all the demands made by the various transport sectors regarding the execution of the modernization process of the corridors in Greater Santo Domingo.

The legislator said that the way in which the issue is being aired through the media is worrying, while there is no conciliatory entity between the Dominican State and the carriers.

Matos pointed out that in the face of any complaint of irregularity in a process, the control agencies of the Dominican State must be activated and prevent corruption, since it is essential to achieve the institutionality that our country needs.

“By vocation we believe in consensus, for which we publicly propose to the Transport Cabinet to promote a dialogue with all the actors in the public passenger transport sector, for their integration into the process,” Matos proposed.

Finally, Elías Matos argued that the authorities must listen to all the actors, drivers, businessmen, shareholders and leaders, in order to remedy and correct any misunderstanding and achieve the participation of all: “This would be the most convenient for the process, current management and for the people”.
