Posición de ANADIVE sobre Revisión Técnica Vehicular del Intrant

ANADIVE’s position on Intrant Vehicle Technical Inspection

The National Association of Vehicle Distribution Agencies (ANADIVE), expressed its support for the Vehicle Technical Inspection announced by the central government, through the National Institute of Transit and Land Transportation (INTRANT) in order to organize transportation and reduce accidents traffic.

The president of the Council of the entity César De los Santos affirmed that it is necessary to start the process of implementing this measure in accordance with the provisions of the Traffic Law 63 -17, Transport, Mobility and Road Safety, under the premise that this measure would contribute to reducing the accident rate and chaos in vehicular traffic.

He said that it seeks to mitigate the obstacles that obstruct free movement on public roads, causing blockages and fatal accidents in streets, avenues, highways and highways, throughout the country.

He indicated that ANADIVE, as a non-profit association, which brings together about 400 companies, dedicated to the Distribution and Commercialization of vehicles (new and used) considers appropriate, according to the aforementioned Law 63-17, the measure of technical revision of the vehicles every year in specialized workshops certifying their correct operation.

I assure César De Los Santos that this will result in favor of mobility and transport in general, guaranteeing that the inspected units will circulate in optimal mechanical conditions and with safety standards.

The oldest organization Dealers from the Dominican Republic He also stated that the measure to be implemented must be accompanied by road safety requirements, understood as the set of strategies.

He supported those actions and measures that guarantee the proper functioning of traffic, avoiding accidents and prioritizing the lives of the actors present on the roads: drivers, motorcyclists, cyclists and pedestrians.

Likewise, he specified that the vehicles must comply with the minimum safety conditions, so that the basic design criteria and manufacturing standards are guaranteed.

He expressed that ANADIVE reiterates its conviction that this initiative will contribute to mitigating the effects of climate change, the reduction of polluting emissions, traffic congestion and
fuel consumption.

He specified one of the most important things is that it would be the starting point to restrict the use of more than one million (1,000,000) automotive units not fit for circulation, which are more than 20 years old, allowing, at the same time, the renewal of the vehicle fleet, with more modern units and new technologies.

He argued that this would concomitantly open a window of opportunity for the commercialization of the vehicle sector in the Dominican Republic.
