According to the epidemiologist of the Provincial Public Health, Samuel Cueto, some 21 children were taken to the Hospital Nuestra Señora de La Altagracia, presenting food poisoning.

He explained that they do not know what type of food caused the poisoning and that they are taking samples.

He declared that they will visit other health establishments to verify if there are or were other students from another educational center who have been taken to receive assistance.

He explained that the infants arrived at the health center with vomiting, some of them, dizziness and general discomfort.

He explained that they are going to investigate even though they are associated with the event.

For his part, the provincial director of Public Health, Víctor Rodríguez, emphasized that in this case the important thing is, in addition to caring for the children, to determine what the infants ate.

In the doctor’s opinion, the food provided by the State is not what caused the poisoning process, because if so, all the schools in the province would be poisoned.
