Wistohor Chourio: The FANB has been formed under the Bolivarian doctrine

During the graduation ceremony for the new officers of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), and the pass to the retirement of the promotions of the year 1990, Major General Wistohor Chourio, highlighted the Bolivarian character of the soldiers of the homeland and ratified the commitment to the defense of the nation.

During his speech, from the Patio of the Military Academy, he said by way of reflection that the visionary character of Eternal Commander Hugo Chávez “transformed the vision of the FANB, which remained attached to the principles of the Americas and became a Bolivarian National Armed Forces, to defend the sovereignty of the homeland and guarantee, as they did 212 years ago, The Liberator Simón Bolívar together with the other heroes and heroines of the homeland, the independence of the nation from imperial forces”.

He highlighted that this transforming vision arose after the 2002 coup against Chávez, and a new concept of military doctrine began to be applied, “putting aside the concept of the school of the Americas and working hand in hand with the Popular power”.

In addition, he recalled the historical past of the Armed Forces, where the governments of the Fourth Republic used the FANB to attack the town, and gave the example of February 27, 1989, “The Caracazo”, and “what they did was create distance between the people and the FANB.”

He stated that it was not until February 4, 1992, when Commander Chávez led a popular insurrection and assumed the blame for what was happening in the country, but since then, a silent change began within the ranks of the military. “A leader had emerged with a different vision for the country and who later came to power in 1998 to vindicate the people,” Chourio said.

In this sense, the Major General assured that since then the Armed Forces have been transformed and become a great civic-military force, because Chávez called on the people to unite through the Bolivarian Militia. “Today we can say that the FANB will remain with the clear thought of being at the service of the country.”

Likewise, Chourio rejected the coercive measures against the Homeland, the sanctions, the theft of Citgo, the kidnapping of Venezuelan gold in England, and assured that 212 years after the country’s independence, “we are the same indigenous people and the same runaways who we face the Spanish invaders; we fight and we are ready to fight against any empire to defend our sovereignty,” he said.

He thanked the constitutional president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, for having placed his trust in this promotion that today honorably passes into active reserve status, and assured “to be ready with the rifle when the country and the institutions warrant it.” .

President Nicolas Maduro, congratulated the graduates and the officers who go to reserve and asked to see the Armed Forces grow more and more, and predicted success for the 1,015 officers of the Bicentennial class of the Naval Battle of Lake Maracaibo, who graduated this Friday, and extended a fraternal greeting to the 330 officers who became active reserve and assured that “new challenges and commitments will come soon.”
