“The National Council of Ecuador slaims civil society, to international organizations and simply closes the doors of any constitutional review and that gives some transparency to a process plagued by fraud, crime, dirt and violence,” described the president of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, the Ecuadorian electoral process- in the second round- last Sunday, April 13.
According to the National Electoral Council of Ecuador, Daniel Noboa defeated Luisa González with more than 10% difference at the polls. With 90%of the polls accounted for, the thing went like this: Noboa 56%, González 44%.

In February, a difference of less than a percentage point forced a second round, “nobody expected Noboa to get what he got: more than 10 points of difference over his opponent,” local media said then.
Maduro who offered these statements in the program Maturo suddenlyHe said that the best “idea Noboa had was to go to Miami to vacation with Mickey Mouse” as a mockery of the people. In addition, he denounced that there were threats and “the drug trafficking ticket ran from top to bottom and Daniel Noboa takes off his mask.”
The president wondered what does the Ecuadorian people say, the workers, indigenous and peasants of the cities of Quito, Cuenca, Guayaquil and Latacunga? “They make them tremendous fraud and deepen crime and economic problems,” he argued.
He argued that this attitude reflects a disconnection of Noboa with the serious economic and social problems facing Ecuador, while the country is plunged into crime related challenges and economy.
The national president stressed that these irregularities represent an attack on democracy and the will of the Ecuadorian people. Similarly, he said that the story will be responsible for judging the actions of the political actors involved in this electoral process.
