The second most infected group is that of those over 60 years of age, with an average of 26.4% of cases per week ahead of those under 30, with an average of 20.8%.
In the first week studied by the report the second group had at 30.5% of those infected, over 21.2% of the first. However, from April 11 onwards, people aged 60 or over they always contributed more infections to the statistics than the group under 30.
“The number of weekly accumulated cases has remained stable”highlighted the epidemiological report, which highlights that they only needed hospital care on 2.3% of the total of 957,810 confirmed cases of covid in Uruguay from the start of the pandemic to the end of June. One in four people who required care was in the ICU0.6% of all cases.
There are 2,626 active casesaccording to the latest weekly case report published last Monday, with 18 of these people in intensive care. In the week prior to publication of the report there were 21 deaths of people with the disease.
According to the epidemiological report, lethality (percentage of deaths with the disease) from covid in the country is 0.77%, while mortality (proportion of deaths in the total population) is 207.62 per 100,000 inhabitants.
