The body corresponding to Nazaret Mercedes Marín Placencia (27), a worker at the National Forensic Science Service (Senamef), was located on a beach in La Guaira, according to police sources.

Marín had been missing since last Sunday when she went out to Los Angeles beach with five friends.

The body was found this Thursday floating on the coastal strip in the Mare Abajo sector, according to a report by agents attached to the La Guaira State Service for Aquatic Spaces.

Initially, the body was taken to the La Guaira morgue and later admitted to the Senamef headquarters located in Bello Monte where they performed the rigorous autopsy to determine the cause of death.

Forensic studies indicate that the young woman was drugged, abused and later strangled, a situation that caused her death.

Marín Placencia lived in Lídice, Caracas and worked as secretary of the Forensic Medical Evaluation Directorate of Senamef. Relatives demand justice for that death.
