The Grand Hotel Punta Del Este breaks the summer with two new openings: “The Grand Center” and “Huma Rooftop Bar & Lounge”

Due to its strategic location and sophisticated service proposal, the 5-star The Grand Hotel Punta del Este has been one of the preferred accommodations for those who visit the Uruguayan resort. Located on Parada 10 of Playa Brava, it has 120 rooms including rooms and suites designed with the latest in luxury and comfort.

Within the services offered by the complex, in December it added two new ones, with two great proposals: firstly, The Grand Center was inaugurated, an impressive 650-square-meter multifunctional space designed to facilitate the holding of all kinds of meetings, which It will allow the town to add an innovative proposal and expand the capacity to host this type of action.

The renowned Argentine journalist José del Río was in charge of leading the evening and welcoming the more than 200 attendees who traveled from Argentina, Brazil and different parts of Latin America to witness the place that promises to become a reference site in Punta del This. The guests enjoyed the conferences focused on innovation and creativity by Estanislao Bachrach, a molecular biologist and neuroscience leader, and Martina Rúa, a journalist specializing in innovation and productivity.

The event brought together local authorities, such as Mayor Enrique Antía. “This project is part of a very large departmental development plan that respects the environment and the diversity that characterize Maldonado,” he said.

For his part, the Minister of Tourism of Uruguay, Tabaré Viera, dedicated a thank you to the family legacy started by Jim Shasha and continued by his daughter Leslie Shasha, CEO of Grand Hotels Lux Collection. “This is a very important inauguration for our country, it is about quality infrastructure for tourism that will allow the region to have a greater offer of proposals for events, which helps the expected deseasonalization of tourism that Maldonado is already achieving and Punta del Este,” he said.

The space has a main hall designed with great functionality to adapt to all types of events, from weddings to a congress and cultural activities such as musical shows and plays, thanks to its first-rate technological equipment. Its large foyer for receptions and double-height glazed main hall with a terraced balcony offer a privileged view of the sea. In its construction, the use of noble materials and an exterior design that accompanies the aesthetics of the hotel, reminiscent of being on a large ship facing the sea, stand out.

panoramic rooftop

Doubly betting on Punta del Este and generating great expectations for being the sensation of summer 2023, The Grand Hotel inaugurated the only rooftop on the east coast: HUMA Rooftop Bar & Lounge, with a panoramic view of Playa Brava. It has signature cocktails by Danilo Oribe, with a line up of different DJs and international cuisine by the executive chef of the Hotel Javier Sánchez. In addition, it offers a luxury space dedicated to sushi lovers, where it is possible to enjoy the exclusive Omakase by Danny Sadi experience.

Susana Giménez, Pampita, Kun Agüero and the Tinelli clan were present at the opening event, who toasted this new opening among family and friends. Zaira Nara and Facundo Pieres also made an appearance.

Artist Fernanda Cohen brought color to the night by live painting a large bird of fire in homage to the bar’s name. In Persian mythology, HUMA is a bird similar to the Phoenix bird, which is reborn from the ashes to resurface energetically and with more vitality for a new stage.

Its architectural finish is directly linked to the marine aesthetic of subtle and wavy forms that acquire dynamism within the framework of the work in general. Its avant-garde class design promises to make it one of the favorite places to enjoy traditional Eastern summer evenings and evenings.

“We continue to improve, innovate and provide unique experiences and excellent service to our guests, customers and the entire community,” said Gabriel Guerra, manager of The Grand Hotel Punta del Este.
