The Special Commission for the Judicial Revolution carried out a preliminary approach to the “Nelson Mandela” Hombre Nuevo Training Center, located in Maturín (Monagas).
The Commission team was led by Deputy Omar Farías Boada and lawyers attached to the Public Defense, sources said.
During the event, held last Saturday, the public defense attorneys interviewed a number of inmates to find out their procedural situation.
The data collected will be used to execute the second part of the day with the presence of prosecutors and judges who will process procedural benefits for prisoners who meet the requirements established by law.
They request an audience with Diosdado Cabello
In the middle of the day, a group of inmates expressed their desire to meet with Deputy Diosdado Cabello, president of the Special Commission for the Judicial Revolution, sources revealed.
Those deprived of liberty (there are eight) are being tried because they allegedly planned an attack against Cabello, according to the investigation by the Public Ministry.
This Friday, June 9, the trial against the eight defendants continues, before the 4th Trial Court of Maturín. In this case, those subjected to trial are: Luis Villarroel, Carlos Pérez, César Belfort, Daniel Aguilera, Víctor Farías, Francisco Marcano, Enrique Parada and José Cruz.
Precisely one of the witnesses promoted in that trial is the current deputy Omar Farías Boada, who led the attack recently carried out in the Monaguense jail where the eight defendants are.
