The covid-19 pandemic remains at the lowest levels since it began in February 2020, although a slight rebound was observed in the previous week, with 6,165 confirmed cases, for a total of 7,125,098 people who have had the disease. Last Tuesday, 5,504 infections were added.

In addition, according to the report of the Ministry of Health (Ssa), the number of daily patients on average per week went from 481 in the period from October 30 to November 5 to 644 between November 6 and 12.

There were also 51 deaths, bringing the global figure to 330,495, the federal agency reported yesterday.

The increase in the transmission of the coronavirus is observed in the number of people with active infection, as they went from 5,185 last week to 6,165 in the report released yesterday.

The entities with the most individuals whose symptoms of infection began in the past 14 days are Yucatán, Quintana Roo, Mexico City, Chihuahua, Baja California, Campeche, Sonora, Baja California Sur, Colima, and San Luis Potosí.

Meanwhile, hospital occupancy was 3 percent for general beds and 1 percent for those with a fan.

Regarding vaccination against SARS-CoV-2, the Ssa reported that coverage for children between the ages of five and 11 is 60 percent, and for adolescents between the ages of 12 and 17 it is 64 percent.

Mexico, among the 5 with the most monkeypox in America

Regarding monkeypox, the Ssa reported that 3,292 cases have been confirmed, that is, 147 more in the recent week.

According to the report, Mexico is among the five countries in the Americas with the most people affected. The others are the United States, Brazil, Colombia and Peru. The report highlights that the epidemic curve maintains a downward trend, and most of those affected have not required hospitalization.

There were no changes in the number of four deaths, which were corroborated by infectious disease and epidemiology analysis. Specialists in these areas are still reviewing the death of four people who, during medical care, presented lesions compatible with monkeypox. It was later confirmed that they were also carriers of the virus.

Regarding the four deaths in which it was confirmed that the cause was monkeypox, the Ssa indicated that there were three men and one woman, with an age range between 30 and 44 years. All four lived with HIV/AIDS, half with syphilis and one of them suffered from diabetes mellitus.
