The Secretary of Industry and Productive Development, José Ignacio de Mendiguren, highlighted this Thursday the importance of the National Institute of Industrial Technology (INTI) “for the structural transformation of Argentina”, when leading the act of assumption of the president of the organization, Sandra Mayol, and its vice president, Jorge Ernesto Schneebeli.
On the occasion, the official assured that “there are few institutions like the INTI that, due to its history, structure and its presence throughout the country, can collaborate so that the opportunities that the world presents us allow us once and for all to be owners of and not tenants of our own resources”.
And he added that “development is not just an economic issue, it is cultural, and INTI is one of the most important institutions to collaborate in this task,” according to the Secretariat in a statement.
Until now, Mayol worked in the Federal Coordination and Agricultural Operations Unit, under the Ministry of Economy.
The appointments of Mayol and Schneebeli were made official as of Decree No. 832/2022, published in the Official Gazette, signed by the President of the Nation, Alberto Fernández, and the Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa.
Referring to the assumption of the new authorities, the secretary said that “we trust and bet on the professionalism of the members of this house. Minister Massa’s political decision is to respect, value and listen to INTI because we know that this institution is the guarantor and promoter of what we want as a national project”.
At the end of the protocol act, the new officials toured with De Mendiguren the facilities of the new pilot plant for the synthesis of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (IFAs), which will promote the national production of strategic and innovative inputs.
It will be the first plant of these characteristics in the public sphere and will be able to develop processes on a pilot scale; It will operate under conditions of good manufacturing practices and will be authorized by the National Administration of Medicines, Food and Technology (Anmat), it was specified.
