River Plate signs three players in one go

River Plate signed three Argentine players on Monday: defenders Emanuel Mammana and Leandro González Pirez, from Russian Sochi and Inter Miami from the United States, respectively, and midfielder Tomás Pochettino, who also comes from Austin FC from MLS.

Mammana, 25, signed as a free player after terminating his contract with Russian Zenit, which had loaned him to Sochi.

The defender made his debut at River Plate in 2014 and two years later he migrated to Olympique de Lyon.

“I am very happy to be back home. This year we are going to put everything into him,” Mammana told the club’s official website.

González Pirez also has a past at the Millionaire: he played for River Plate from 2011 to 2013.

“I am very happy and very happy to be here again. I wish it for a long time. Now we are going for everything,” said the defender on River Plate’s official website.

Pochettino, on the other hand, made his debut for Boca Juniors in 2015 and then played for Defensa y Justicia and Talleres until he signed for Austin FC in 2021.

“I am very happy to be here and I hope we have a great year,” said the creative midfielder.
