The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (Inameh) forecast the arrival of the first tropical wave of the rainy season between Wednesday the 24th and Thursday the 25th. Ángel Graterol, a forecaster for the entity, explained that the wave is located over the Tropical Central Atlantic and advances from the coasts of Africa towards the national territory.
Regarding the recent rainfall, he assured that they correspond to a trough over the north of the country, specifically towards the Caribbean Sea. “This trough moves from west to east and its axis is towards western Venezuela, but it will advance towards the east, affecting the central and eastern part of Venezuela,” he explained.

In Caracas the rains left flooding and falling trees. Users reported on social networks that on the main avenue of Los Flores de Catia, in the Sucre parish, there were strong queues due to a lagoon. Libertador Avenue, eastbound, in El Recreo, was flooded. The downpour caused the fall of a tree that hindered vehicular traffic on Baralt avenue to the center of the city.
In Delta Amacuro state, the rains paralyzed activities in Tucupita. While in Anzoátegui electrical failures were reported.
In Maturín, Monagas state, at least 15 houses in the Libertador community in Maturín are at risk of flooding due to the rains due to the lack of cleaning of the pipe that crosses the area. Neighbors asked the authorities to go to the site and provide solutions.
They consider that their homes are at risk every time it rains in the area. Herminia Robles, a neighbor of the area, affirms that “there are houses that are cracked by this situation,” reported Unión Radio.
