Puno: delivery of 32 thermal houses for the Ilave population that can withstand frost

The Government delivered a batch of 32 Sumaq Wasi bioclimatic homes that will provide thermal comfort to inhabitants of the Corpa Maquera town center, in the district of Ilave (Puno), as part of the targeted actions carried out within the framework of the Multisector Plan against Frost and Friage 2022-2024.

Due to their innovative design, the Sumaq Wasi houses help to capture the heat of the day and keep it at night, which allows protecting and improving the quality of life of very low-income families in rural areas.

The 32 hot houses were built under the executing nucleus modality, through the National Rural Housing Program of the Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation, with an investment of 944,433 soles.

It should be noted that, within the framework of the Multisectoral Plan, the Government plans to complete 7,942 Sumaq Wasi homes this year that will benefit the same number of families, with an investment of 218 million soles.

The activity, of a multisectoral nature, was attended by the Deputy Minister of Territorial Governance of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Jesús Quispe Arones; and the Vice Ministers of Housing and Urban Planning of the Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation, Cecilia Lecaros Vértiz; and of Policies and Social Evaluation of the Ministry of Development and Social Inclusion, María Tarazona Alvino.

Likewise, officials from the Ministries of Health and Agrarian Development and Irrigation, the National Institute of Civil Defense (Indeci), the Regional Government and the provincial municipalities of El Collao and district of Ilave, as well as members of the Army.

Vaccination and coat

The Ministry of Health made arrangements for the Puno Health Directorate to carry out an immunization day against influenza and pneumococcus for the population over 60 years of age and children under five years of age in the aforementioned population center.

Also, vaccines against COVID-19 were applied and general medicine and psychology consultations were provided, among other actions. Similarly, Indeci and Army personnel handed out blankets and jackets to the residents.
