Within the framework of the twelfth anniversary of the Great Housing Mission of Venezuela, President Nicolás Maduro proposed that the Electoral Power carry out periodic consultations with the people, beyond the elections provided for in the law.
The proposal was made from “Ciudad Bicentenario”, in Santa Teresa del Tuy, Miranda state, where the national president proposed that the people be consulted permanently.
“An Electoral Power should be established that consults the people permanently, not only every five years to elect a President or Congress, every month, every two months, every year, on the main problems of their community life, of their social life” , expanded the president.
In this sense, he said that this was a proposal by Commander Hugo Chávez in the years 1992-1993, “and here we are building those dreams that raised us with hope in our earliest youth, and these dreams are renewed and are acquiring more importance ”, he added.
The president applauded the initiative of Mirandino governor Héctor Rodríguez, who proposed to permanently consult the people of that entity and the People’s Power, on the use of heritage and the investment of public resources.
In this regard, the governor of the entity, Héctor Rodríguez, explained what it is about by noting that although this entity is complex, “today the entity occupies the first place at the sports level (winning the national games), it is the first in vaccination, it has reduced crime rates by 91%,” results that have been “achieved for two reasons: first, the support of the Executive; the second, a People’s Power that has empowered itself from the management”.
The regional authority described that in Miranda there are 30,000 streets and 4,000 communities and that in these “not a minute will go by without someone coming up and telling us that they represent a technical committee for water, gas, community chief,” that is, , someone who does know their community.
“There is an empowered people, here the people are power”, which “popular power was used to strengthen the peace quadrants and systematically reduce insecurity rates”, the Governor pointed out.
