Penitentiary Regime affirms that Apaza did not suffer a stroke and will not be taken to a hospital

Almost five weeks after the cocalero leader, César Apaza, was transferred from the Chonchocoro prison to the Hospital de Clínicas with a stroke, the national health director of the Penitentiary Regime, Mariana García Vargas, said that the Yungo leader did not suffer any embolism, and justified that he could not give the actual medical report because he did not have the patient’s permission.

On February 14, at approximately 8:45 p.m., according to the testimony of his lawyer, Evelyn Cossío, Apaza suffered a decompensation and since there was no doctor at the Chonchocoro prison, was attended by the doctor of the governor of Santa Cruz, Luis Fernando Camacho, who would have required the emergency transfer. The next day, the doctors who treated César Apaza confirmed the cerebral embolism; now the Government affirms that this diagnosis was not true.

“We, as a medical area, have requested the national director of the Penitentiary Regime to evaluate the possibility that this patient can return to the care area of ​​the Chonchocoro penitentiary center, which is a place of hospitalization, where we have the operation of a second level areaWe have the necessary medical equipment, the medicines to be able to intervene in any emergency or urgency that may arise,” García described.

On February 14, Apaza’s family and lawyer denounced that there is not a single doctor in the prison and that for that reason, at that time, the professional who attended Governor Camacho was appealed and that it was for those efforts that he was transferred to Apaza to the Hospital de Clínicas.

The health worker also said that she personally spoke with Apaza and it was he who asked to be taken to his cell because he lives with his countrymen who help him. Also admitted that the leader cannot fend for himself and that he requires support, even under these conditions they accepted that he go to their cells.

Now, they raised the possibility that the physiotherapy sessions required be attended by staff from the Hospital de Clínicas, who can send professionals to the Chonchocoro prison.
