Next season: the forecast on the arrival of tourists and average stay

For the next season tourists are expected to stay less days of stay in the chosen destinations and an approximate occupation of 90% during January. The forecast is that the trend of recent years will continue and that the largest number of visitors will come from Argentina.

A report prepared by Casas del Este, the temporary rental portal of InfoCasas, indicated that taking into account user queries, an occupation similar to last season is expected, when 90% was reached in the first 20 days of january. The increase in rental inquiries through the portal was 8% and 15% in the case of visits.

The largest number of visits was from Argentina with 54%, followed by Brazil with 31%, Brazil 10%, Chile 2% and 3% came from other countries.

In the case of Argentina, there is uncertainty about the arrival of tourists due to the unfavorable exchange rate. The report noted that while there is a regular audience of east end that does not modify your stay, in other sectors the next season is viewed with greater caution.

For this reason, it is expected shorter booking schedule than in previous years, with a average stay of 10 daysboth for Punta del Este and for the coast of rock. The estimate that had been made for last season had been an average stay of 20 days.

Punta del Este was the most searched destination in portal queries with 42%, followed by Piriapolis with 18% and La Paloma to La Pedrera with 16%.

Rental prices remain stable compared to the previous season with an increase of 2% in dollars. In turn, accommodation tickets range, on average, between US$110 and US$200 per day. The Average ticket in Punta del Este it is US$200, in La Pedrera it is US$190, in Piriápolis it is US$150 and US$110 in Atlántida.
