The Venezuelan president, Nicolás Maduro, sent a congratulatory message on the night of Sunday, August 20, to all those who participated in the election process for street bosses organized by the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, where they were elected in more than 260 thousand base assemblies throughout the country.

He described the day as “tremendous” and hopes that God will give them strength so that this communal leadership can be transformed into “happiness, prosperity and well-being for the entire community.”
He indicated that there is a slogan that is “increasingly clear” and that it is aimed at the best organization of the militancy, the PSUV and the citizens themselves. I add that these leaders have the task of organizing, uniting and adding to build a better society. However, no further details were known about the day of the election.

According to the portal Cocuyo effect, in several areas of the country little influx of voters was reported despite the fact that the official press affirmed that there was a massive participation of the militancy to choose their street bosses. The text even indicates that there were alerts that they were not even notified of the process to be carried out.
On Saturday, August 27, the assemblies to choose the heads of the community are expected to be held, and on September 3, those of the Bolívar-Chávez Battle Units (UBCh) will be elected.
August 17, the first vice president of the PSUV, Diosdado Cabello, recalled that the election of more than 200,000 “street bosses” was going to take place, for which he announced that an operational deployment would be carried out. He specified that the first task of those who are elected will be to organize the militancy of the ruling party.
“This Wednesday we will have a videoconference with all the regional and municipal computing centers. On Thursday, August 18, we will have a meeting with the promoters in all the municipalities of the country. On Friday the 1st we will have a great day of propaganda, a day of maximum dissemination. Saturday will be the great selection day for street bosses and Sunday will be the election of street bosses,” said Cabello at the time.
After the electoral process, the elected street bosses must send to the computer centers “photos of the minutes of the assembly, of the totalization act, list with identity card of the participants and number of votes obtained, in addition to the telephone number of the four most voted”, added the partisan leader.
