Interior will increase police presence at the entrances of Montevideo

The Ministry of Interior decided to increase the police presence in the access area of Montevideo due to the actions of criminal agents.

This Sunday a multiple traffic accident occurred in that area after two criminals threw wooden logs onto the road so that drivers were forced to stop and, once they did, take advantage and steal them. Two people suffered minor injuries as a result.

Regarding the situation, the director of Security and Coexistence of the Ministry of the Interior spoke, Santiago Gonzalez. The hierarch indicated: “Yesterday I spoke with the head of zone IV, mobile phones were sent to unblock the situation.”

“The problem in the accesses is as old as their creation. Unfortunately, yesterday there was an event, with a trunk, and a couple of days with stones, “he said.

“The ministry when we entered had some old operatives that were ‘pebble operatives’. Imagine since when it comes, but we have to correct that, ”he added.

González assured that the security cameras in the area work and that they are already on the trail of the antisocials.

“There is a problem and it must be solved,” concluded the director of the Ministry of the Interior.
