Montevideo City Hall reported that after receiving a complaint about driver’s licenses, by officials of the Driver Control Service, they quickly opened an urgent investigation. They also initiated an administrative investigation, audit and criminal complaint.
The case refers to a person who is a member of the functional staff of said office. While the complaint was made by other officials, within the framework of transparency of the administration.
From the Driver Comptroller Service, where driver’s licenses are issued, an irregular-looking maneuver was detected. In which the necessary requirements for the granting of said permits would not have been met.
The Department of Mobility submitted the file of the investigation to the Legal Advice Division, so that it can carry out the investigation. In addition, it ordered the performance of an audit of actions, as well as a criminal complaint for apparently illegal acts.
