The Minister of the Interior, Luis Alberto Heber, corrected the way in which he was presented during a luncheon of the Association of Marketing Leaders of Uruguay (ADM) this Tuesday; they introduced him as “doctor” when in fact he is not.
Heber addressed the president of ADM, Jorge Abuchalja, and asked to make “a comment” to clarify his profession.
“A comment, George, I’m not a doctor, I’m just a citizen. just a gentleman. I say this because the last person who dressed in someone else’s title did not do very well. I just wanted to clarify it,” said Heber, referring to Raúl Sendic but without naming him, and received applause from the public, amid some laughs.
In February 2016, the then Vice President Raúl Sendic admitted to The Observer that he was not a graduate in Human Genetics as it was presented in official activities.
