Last Thursday the 26th, an inmate from Unit No. 4 of Santiago Vázquez died after an incident with other inmates; The Interior Ministry said in a statement. The episode involved the fifth homicide in prisons so far in 2022.
Around 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, an incident was recorded in sector B1 of module 3. Later, police officers transferred two inmates wounded to the infirmary of the Unit. However, one of them Malcolm David Rodriguez Lima, 27 years oldwas referred to the Maciel Hospital. Around 19:50, he passed away in the surgical block.
They identified three of the alleged perpetrators. They acknowledged having faced to the victim.
