Domestic, retirement, public and private: look at the salary increases that have been in force since January

This January 1, most of the workers in the private sector have a salary adjustmentaccording to the agreements of the last round of collective bargaining that are in force in many cases until the middle of the year.

Domestic

Rural, commerce, industry and other services

Salaries that include workers in livestock, agriculture, dairy farms and related activities adjusted for the last time before their expected maturity in the middle of the year. In January 2023, the remuneration adjustment will be 3.5%. There are three points for expected inflation plus half a point of recovery.

On the other hand, in the refrigeration industry the increase is 4.128%, and in the dairy industry sector it is 4.03%.

Supermarket workers have an increase of 3.3%in stores it is 3.2%, in opticians it is 3% and for building personnel it is also 3%.

In warehouses and supermarkets, the adjustment is 3.5%, as in construction shacks.

Within the beverage industry and malt shops, wages increased 3%, the same as in bookstores and stationery stores. The staff of bakeries with processing plants will have an adjustment of 4.5%.

And in the private education kindergarten and nursery staff have an increase of 4.06%. In preschool, primary, secondary and higher education there will be an increase of the same magnitude, but in February.

The Hotel, restaurant and bar staff have a nominal adjustment of 4% in January. Here are included hotels, apart hotels, motels, inns, camps and bungalows, restaurants, barbecues, canteens, cafes, pubs and breweries.

An adjustment of 6.58% will apply to club and gym workers. In service stations the salary increase will be 3%, the same as in mechanical workshops; and 3.9% for cleaning service personnel.

In trades like building There was already a salary correction last April, so the next adjustment will be only after March and with a new agreement. The same goes for the private banks that they corrected in September and will do it again next March with a new agreement that will have to be negotiated.

public wages

The officials of the Central administration they will have a floor adjustment of 6.7%, which corresponds to projected inflation for 2023, according to official estimates. To this percentage is added 1.2% for the concept of partial recovery of wage loss.

A third component includes a corrective which takes into account the difference in more that would have been registered between the observed variation of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) during the validity of the 2022 adjustment (around 8.5%) and the adjustment percentage granted for that year, where includes the 5.8% from last January and the 2% advance on account received in July. So that corrective would be around 0.5%.

In this way, the salary correction that will be charged from February would be around 9.3%. This may vary a few tenths depending on the final inflation record in the 12 months ending in December. This data is known in the first days of January.

In addition, fixed items of $1,500 nominal per month will be granted for those workers who receive monthly salaries of less than $80,000 nominal as of May 2022 (excluding items for seniority, constituted household and family allowance), as established in the agreement.

In the official banks there will be an adjustment that will take into account the annual inflation projected for the year by the Executive Branch (6.7%). To this is added a corrective for inflation in 2022 if applicable. For this, and as in the Central Administration, the additional 2% granted last July is taken into account, in addition to the 5.8% granted last January.

The officials of the official banks will also receive an additional adjustment of 1.8% from next January for the concept of partial recovery of what was lost in 2021.

retirements

The data of the Average Index of Nominal Salaries (IMSN), corresponding to the period January – November, which was 9.74%, allows us to establish the floor increase that retirees and pensioners will receive in January 2023 and that will be collected in February.

Taking into account this data and the advance on account of 3% that the Executive Power granted in July for retirement and pensions, the preliminary adjustment stands at 6.54%.

With the IMSN for the period between January and November, the retirement adjustment is established, which will apply as of January 2023 and will be received in the February payments.

When the result of the IMSN for the whole year is known next month, that 6.54% floor will have a slight adjustment and the differences in the payment corresponding to February will be re-settled, with which the full increase will be collected in March.

National Minimum Wage

From this January 1, the new value for the National Minimum Wage is in force. The government decided that the minimum remuneration has a 9% adjustment, which goes from $19,364 to $21,106 per month or the equivalent that results from dividing that amount by 25 to determine a minimum wage or by 200 to establish the hourly wage . This is an indicator that generally serves as a guideline for the informal sector. In the formal sector, wage awards are above the minimum wage.

public rates

With the beginning of a new year they also increase UTE rates that rise 3.5% on average, and of SBI which increased 6.7%. In the case of rates before fixed charges for mobile telephony are adjusted by 2%, while those for fixed internet and fixed telephony are 2.65%.

For his part, the price of the fuels that Ancap sells falls by $3 for gasoline and $6 for diesel. The price of supergas remains unchanged.
