COVID-19 cases continue to rise with almost double the number of infections

The report provided this Friday corresponds to epidemiological week 21, from May 22 to 28.

According to the report, 12,426 samples were processed in that week, of which 601 yielded positive results for COVID-19, practically double the number of infections recorded in the previous update.

With these new data, the total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country since the start of the pandemic reaches 651,268.

In addition, 2 new deaths due to the disease were registered, reaching a total of 18,911 deaths related to COVID-19.

The report speaks of about 30 patients hospitalized for the disease, of which 4 are hospitalizations in intensive care units.
