Congress of Mayors elected Echeverría as the new president

Mayor Moreira participated in the last session of the year of the Congress of Mayors that was held in what will be the new headquarters of the institution, located at 3568 Joaquín Suarez street, in Montevideo, a house ceded by the Ministry of Defense.

This Thursday’s session was attended by the Vice President of the Republic, Esc. Beatriz Argimón.

The Mayor of Florida, Guillermo López, presented a balance of his management, with the actions and objectives met by Congress under his presidency.

The relationship with the national government, conventions and agreements with national and international organizations and official missions abroad.

Congress elected its new authorities, where, after several twists and turns between the mayors Yamandú Orsi and Carolina Cosse, the Broad Front ceded the presidency that corresponded to it.

The Mayor of Flores Fernando Echeverría assumed the presidency of the body, being designated the mayors Andrés Lima and Richard Sander, as first and second vice president respectively.
