A 21-year-old girl was strangled at the hands of her partner in Salamanca, province of Colón

Yara Beitia, a 21-year-old girl, was found dead inside her residence in the Salamanca sector, province of Colón, this Friday morning, by her relatives.

The murderer, presumably her sentimental partner, strangled her. The body of the young woman was wrapped in bed.

The man fled with their daughter, after committing the femicide.

According to unofficial data, the subject called the mother-in-law and told her that he would turn himself in without providing further details.

Meanwhile, the Homicide and Femicide Section of the Colón and Guna Yala Regional Prosecutor’s Office began the investigation for the alleged commission of the crime of femicide, after this fact.

In the first months of this year 2022, a total of 11 femicides and 13 violent deaths have been registered in Panama, as indicated by statistical data from the Public Ministry (MP).
