Merchant imprisoned in Anzóategui for not billing with the BCV rate

The merchant Hebert Enrique Piña Bermúdez was charged by the Public Ministry and deprived of liberty in Lechería, Urbaneja municipality of Anzoátegui state, for refusing to invoice a client with the rate of the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV).

The information was released by the Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab on Friday night through social networks, where he explained that the merchant also verbally assaulted the client.

The prosecutor also pointed out that the subject “speculated with a profit margin of more than 400%.”

In the publication, he explained that the premises located in Lechería, northern Anzoátegui state, which is called MAR P&V CA Corporation, was inspected by the Public Ministry and the configuration of the Crime of Speculation was determined in its activity, according to article 49 of the Law Organic Fair Prices, “to the detriment of different customers.”
