A man was sentenced to 26 years in prison for the femicide of his ex-partner, identified as Valeria Vera, 38, in June of last year. The incident occurred in the city of Young, in the department of Río Negro.
The crime took place on June 19, 2021. In accordance with Underlined, the woman repeatedly told the man that the relationship had to end, but he refused; they eventually broke up months before the murder. The night of the homicide, the subject was at the victim’s house and asked her if she was going out with someone else, to which she replied yes. The murderer went out to smoke and when he re-entered the house he began to rebuke Vera.
