Latin American voices will condemn US aggressions against Cuba

“The blockade kills, it is criminal, it is unilateral and it must end. The United States must let Cuba live in peace”, stressed the Brazilian activist in her intervention on the Russian YouTube channel Europe for Cuba, in her broadcast of the media marathon in solidarity with the Antillean nation.

He indicated that for the militants who fight for peace around the world, it is very important to defend the guarantees of Cuba’s rights.

He pointed out that Cuba decided to defend itself as a nation determined to be independent and master of its destiny and made a Revolution based on the rights and needs of the most humble and oppressed.

“It broke with the domination of US colonialism and imperialism and conquered its sovereignty, as a result of the great unity of its people, who have tried to build a just, sovereign, humanist, solidary and internationalist society on their path of socialist construction,” Gomes pointed out. .

He warned that for 60 years, the small island has had to face the United States, “the most cruel, perverse power and its outlaw government,” which continues to beat and try to suffocate the Cuban population so that despair leads to the people to rebel against their revolutionary authorities.

“It is their way of trying to get Cuba to bow to the selfish designs of hegemonic domination. It is the same thing that US imperialism is trying to do around the entire world,” she emphasized.

The Latin American leader stated that this North American policy is maintained despite the resolutions approved by the United Nations for 29 years with the support of the majority of the nations of the world, who vote against this criminal monstrosity.

The extraterritorial nature of the blockade measures allows Washington to sanction companies, banks and institutions that trade with Cuba and to bring them before US courts. What is the OBJETIVE? Bend and defeat the Cuban Revolution.

He commented that this blockade, the longest and cruelest in modern history, has been accompanied by the mercenary invasion by Playa Girón, in addition to years of attacks, sabotage and media war. “However, Cuba’s response was more education, more health, more revolution, more internationalism,” he said.

Gomes stressed that the cruelty of US policy was exposed to public light in recent years, when in the midst of the crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, it prohibited the sale of medicines and food to Cuba.

He mentioned that while the world is looking for solutions, when cooperation and solidarity between peoples and nations were most necessary, the United States selfishly tightened sanctions against the island and prohibited the sale of medical instruments, means of health protection and raw materials. for drug production.

“Cuba’s response to this situation was to work with determination, sagacity, intelligence and sovereignty to discover four vaccines against Covid-19,” he stressed.

He highlighted how in this period of difficulties for all humanity, the Caribbean nation deployed its brigades of health professionals throughout the world, helping several countries.

“In other words, Cuba responds with humanism, with solidarity, with cooperation,” while the US government attacks it, he said.

He stated that, however, “the decadent empire has collided with the desires of a worthy, sovereign people, determined to build their own destiny against brute force.”

The president of the World Peace Council stated that Cuba, with its example, earned the support of solidarity movements, as well as the respect and admiration of all the peoples of the world.
