Worker dies after falling into crushing machine

Pablo Enrique Vera Almada, 28, died last night at the Social Welfare Institute of Ciudad del Este after eleven days of the accident inside the Xplast company, in the San Alfredo neighborhood of Ciudad del Este, according to Radio Concierto.

The man had fallen into a crushing machine in one of the production sectors of the factory, where he had been working for a month.

Vera Almada had one leg and one arm amputated, but she did not recover and was eventually found dead.

Laura Almada, mother of the victim, had told the press that her son was working alone and without any protection when the fall occurred inside the crusher. The 28-year-old had just started working for this plastics company a month ago and a week ago he was transferred to the production part, according to the company.
