Dr. Alfredo Moltó: ‘There is a slight downward trend in the fifth wave of Covid-19’

Dr. Alfredo Moltó, who is an advisor to the Superior Office of the Ministry of Health, analyzed this Monday the fifth wave of Covid-19 in our country, stating that there is a trend of stabilization of cases that has been registered for a few days.

“We have seen that in the last four or five days, the number of new cases tends to flatten, not going up, but with a slight downward trend and the percentage of positivity is at 21%, that is good, we hope to see figures for the next 48 hours,” he said.

He recalled that on weekends there are fewer Covid-19 tests that are carried out and that influences the fact that there are fewer cases.

Moltó commented that before the increase five weeks ago, there was an average of 80 hospitalized patients, of which 4 or 5 were in the ICU; now there are around 130 hospitalized and 25 in the ICU.
