The Rod Carew Stadium will have a new face for the public, because at a cost of $7 million, this Tuesday morning, the order to proceed was delivered that will begin the recovery of the sports spaces in this coliseum.
The remodeling project includes the areas; parking, lighting, drainage, playing field, stands and seats for the public, all the internal and external facade of the stadium.
According to the tender document, the work must be completed and delivered in its entirety in August of this year.
The president of the Republic Laurentino Cortizo, the vice president and minister of the Presidency José Gabriel Carrizo and the general director of the Panamanian Sports Institute, Héctor Brand, participated in the delivery.
During the event, in which the first shovel was given for the remodeling of the stadium, the president assured that “the works that begin today cover the comprehensive improvement of the stadium’s facilities, its different environments and facilities, to adequately serve and efficiently the needs of athletes, sports organizations and the public that attends events”.
