The Brazilian women’s volleyball team beat China by 3 sets to 1 (23/25, 25/17, 25/22 and 25/22) for the fifth and final round of the group D qualifying phase of the world championship, in Arnhem (Netherlands).
After losing to Japan on Friday (30), the team led by coach Zé Roberto Guimarães showed power of reaction and overcame the Asian team this Saturday morning (1st), at Brasília time.
The highest scorers of the duel for the green and yellow sides were the opposite Tainara, with 22 points, and the tip Gabi with 17 hits.
For China, Li scored 22 points and was the most effective. As a result, the Brazilians broke China’s invincibility and ended this stage in the group’s vice-leadership. The national team does not play on Sunday and Monday. The delegation awaits the other results of the last round to know the order of the confrontations of the next stage of the tournament. In addition to the top four in group D (China, Brazil, Japan and Argentina), the team will face the classifieds in group A (Italy, Belgium, Holland and Puerto Rico).
