The Movement We Are Venezuela (MSV) supports the decisions made by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, to protect the working people and thus guarantee them a decent life, Vanesa Montero, general secretary of the MSV, stressed on Wednesday.
“Venezuela is on the path to economic growth, which is why we support the decisions of President Maduro and Jorge Rodríguez, who protect the working people,” he said.
During a press conference broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), Montero indicated that this Tuesday in the session of the National Assembly, the president of the Legislative Power, Jorge Rodríguez, He asked the Commission for Social and Integral Development to speed up, with the aim of promoting legal instruments for the protection of workers.
For the secretary of the MSV, the request of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, to accelerate the laws to guarantee the rights of workers is an achievement “that we must highlight because it is for the protection of workers towards a dignified life.”
Likewise, Montero recalled that International Workers’ Day is celebrated because it was an act of vindication of the struggle made by the working class, which staged a strike in 1886 to achieve a reduction in working hours.
Deployment by regions
For his part, the head of the Workers’ Network, Oliver Rivas, said that the Somos Venezuela Movement will be deployed in various regions of the country to carry out activities as part of International Workers’ Day, visiting the productive councils installed in the different labor organizations both in public and private companies.
With this deployment of the MSV, the aim is to “promote the creation of a module of comprehensive care for workers, legal medical care and recreation, totally free.”
Rivas added that it is intended to train promoters within the institutions to accompany the productive councils and be participants in the labor sector, all this as part of the country’s economic recovery.
