The doctor Victor Rago was elected as rector of the Central University of Venezuela (UCV), after obtaining the majority of the votes in the second round in the elections of this house of studies, developed this Friday, June 30. The information was provided by the Electoral Commission on the website, after completing the process of counting the votes of professors, students, employees and workers of the University.
In the process, the following were also elected as academic vice-rector: Fátima Garcés, administrative vice-rector: José Balbino León; secretary: Corina Aristimuño, dean of the Faculty of Agronomy: Aida Ortiz, dean of the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences (FACES): Luis Angarita, and as dean of the Faculty of Legal and Political Sciences: Juan Apitz.
The elected rector is an anthropologist and PhD in Linguistics, an undergraduate and graduate professor, and was dean of FACES and a member of the University Council.
