Former presidential candidate Verónika Mendoza noted that the president of Congress, Maria del Carmen Alva, he will not achieve his presumed objective of assuming the Presidency of the Republic. This statement occurs in a context where parliamentarians from Peru Libre presented a bill to advance the elections generals.
“(María del Carmen Alva) dreams of the presidential sash that she will not have”, declared the leader of the New Peru political movement, in an interview for TV Peru.
Besides, mendoza made a call to left wing legislators so that they can “translate with more force the demands of the people”.

Alva refuses to stay in power
The president of the Congress, María del Carmen Alva, expressed her position in favor of an eventual advancement of general elections in the event of a scenario of presidential vacancy or resignation in the following days.
“Here, in Congress, no one entrenches their seat. If they want there to be a general election, there will be a general election. We do not want more chaos in the Government. We want unity for Peruvians”, said Alva, after being consulted about the high disapproval of the Legislative.
The latest survey of the Institute of Peruvian Studies (IEP) showed that the unpopularity of Congress continues to grow and, in that sense, the parliamentarian blamed the Executive for being the cause of this situation.

“All their ineptitudes and inability are being blamed on us, but I know that the Peruvian people are not stupid and they are not naive either, they realize and know that this man is not qualified to govern”, declared the congresswoman.
