Velázquez proposes a cabinet with gender parity

The vice president and pre-candidate for the presidency of the Republic, Hugo Velázquez, during an act in the town of San Ignacio Misiones, promised that if he is elected president, his government cabinet would be made up of 50% women.

During a fiery speech, Velázquez recalled that for a long time it has been heard that women’s participation in politics must be vindicated and this is the time to show real progress in that direction. Making a historical recount, he highlighted that a Colorado government was the one that promulgated the Law of access to the right to vote for women and the first women in Parliament were deputies of his party.

“Our commitment is that when we become a government, for the first time there will be the reality of a cabinet made up of 50% women and 50% men. Because you deserve it, because you humanize politics, because you are the ones who have the sensitivity and have a vocation for service in politics”, affirmed the candidate, unleashing applause from an audience of female leaders.

RATE RISK

He also mentioned the recent risk rating granted by the international firm Moody’s, which maintained Paraguay’s note at Ba1, but improved the country’s sovereign risk outlook after seven years from “stable” to “positive.” In the same week, the International Financial Action Task Force (Gafilat) reported from Quito, Ecuador, that Paraguay had approved the fourth round of evaluation on the fight against money laundering and financing of terrorism.

“This is important because it creates an opportunity to improve the conditions of our economy, it allows foreign investors to bring their capital to the country, generating genuine sources of work. With this, the cost of credit for Paraguay will go down because we are credible, we are half a step away from reaching investment grade. Homework was done well and these are the proofs”, stressed the vice president.

CRITIQUE OF HIS ADVERSARIES

During the act, the presidential candidate did not stop criticizing his opponents from the Honor Colorado movement and said that they “may buy participants for their meetings, but enthusiasm cannot be bought, and even more so when it comes to rented Colorados. We are true leaders and colorados.”

Finally, he said that for 6 to 7 years the leadership of the Colorado Party is no longer behind the great causes of the country. “We have to recover the party with a vocation for service, for this we have to put a person who dreams and feels the colors of the party, that is why we cannot allow people who joined yesterday just for personal interests to continue managing our association” , he stressed.
